Demand for Church building in new secretariat being constructed in Telangana

The Federation of Telugu Churches (FTC), a state-level inter-denominational apex body of archbishops/bishops of mainline churches and heads of major Christian denominations, has asked Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for the construction of a Church building in the new Secretariat of the state “along with the construction of a temple and a mosque.”
In a statement, Fr Dr Anthoniraj Thumma and B Danam IAS (Retd), executive secretaries, FTC, said, Christian worship service was allowed in the old Secretariat. at first in the Association Hall of K Block, and then in the Church Hall, inaugurated by late chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
“Now that all these blocks are being demolished, we appeal to you to get a Church building constructed along with the construction of a temple and a mosque which you have promised”, the statement said, adding, “This gesture will go a long way to prove the secular credentials of your government and your personal secular convictions.”
