Movement for Secular Democracy tribute to communal harmony martyrs Vasant-Rajab

Movement for Secular Democracy (MSD) note on recalling the martyrdom of Vasant and Rajab for the sake of communal harmony:

No one can forget July 1 as Hindu Muslim Duo Vasantrao Hegeshthe and Rajab Ali Lakhani martyred together at one place in Jamalpur Ahmedabad while attempting to calm down the rioters mob. It was 1946. Movement for Secular Democracy (M.S.D.) always observes this day in a befitting manner.
On July 1, 2023, tribute program was organised at Vasant Rajab Chowk, Jamalpur. Sh. Prakashbhai N. Shah, Convenor, M.S.D. delievered the lecture on life struggle of Vasant Rajab and teachings for us from that. The songs of communal harmony were sung. The participants could not be deterred by heavy rain and consequent water logging. Everyone wore the badge of Vasant Rajab.
Yet another program was organised at the grave of Rajab Ali at Chartoda Graveyard, Gomtipur due to initiative of the corporators of the area Sh. Iqbalbhai Shaikh and Sh. Zulfikarbhai. A flower blanket was offered to the grave of Rajab Ali
In both these programmes, Secretary of M.S.D. Sh. Dwarikanath Rath, Dr. Rangrajan Raghavan, Sh. Jayeshbhai Patel and others participated. Sh. Meenakshiben Joshi conducted both the programmes.
