In Counterview, Rajiv Shah, journalist and blogger, has made an attempt to reflect all that he reads, hears and sees around him, banking on information available in official as well as unofficial, alternative sources.
The sources of this site are not necessarily those on which the "mainstream" media heavily relies upon – the ruling establishment, economic or administrative.
This site is inspired by the view expressed by litterateur George Orwell, who said, "Journalism is printing what someone else does not want printed: everything else is public relations." Its idea first emerged in 2011, when he started blogging for the Times of India. At that time, he was the paper's Gandhinagar representative, looking after the Gujarat government, as the paper's political editor.
