People of Palestine tweeting that they are dying and world is doing nothing about it

By Raqif Makhdoomi*

On 7th of October 2023, marked the beginning of the world’s most brutal ongoing genocide in Palestine. The genocide cuts across religious lines. The aggressor Israel is busy in mass genocide of Palestinians which include any religion or person living in Palestine.
Israel has bombed Churches, mosques, cafes, schools and even hospitals. It proudly calls it Self Defence and proudly is supported by a countries that itself has a history of mass genocide , UK , USA and Germany are the front runners in supporting the world’s most brutal genocide. I will not go into the history of UK, USA or Germany having hand in mass genocides around world as that’s not what we are discussing.
The Israel claims that it’s action is response to the Hamas' missiles fired in Israel. But did Hamas do anything unprovoked or is Hamas action actually in response to what Israel is doing in Palestine for 50 years now. Israel has been hitting Gaza with missile even before what it calls Hamas' unprovoked action. No one is alien to what’s happening in Palestine for 50 years now. The settlers forceful enter their homes and throw their belongs out and take over the place by force.
The human loss due to Israel inhumane action is going up with each passing day. Most of lives lost are of teenagers and newly born babies. The humanitarian crises in Palestine is heart breaking. The videos on the social media break your heart. Tears roll down even if you want to control them. A young YouTuber who wanted to have 1 million followers lost his life to Israel's missiles. A guy named Hamza Ahmad on 13 October tweets “How bad it is!! Trying to convince the world that you are dying.” And now he’s no more alive he also lost his life to Israel’s missiles. The people of Palestine are tweeting about they dying and world can do nothing expect protesting.
Israel’s claims of fighting Hamas are being proven otherwise by their own action. Benjamin Netanyahu himself made it clear that Israel won’t allow humanitarian aid. This makes things much more clear. Israeli minster who announced complete siege on Palestine called them “human animals” and now they are treating them so. I am shocked to see how a human being can destroy so many human lives without having sense of guilt. Israel’s Bombing of Al Aziz Hospital made things much more clear about what they are trying to do.
Even after governments of many countries have stood with Israel but their people are doing otherwise and are coming out in thousands in support of Palestine and calling out Israel for its actions. UK Government stands with Israel but it’s people are with Palestine, USA government stands with Israel but it’s people are with Palestine, France government stands with Israel but it’s people stand with Palestine even the Orthodox Jews are calling out Benjamin Netanyahu for his war crimes. The people and the governments are divided on the issue of Palestine conflict.
World must call out Israel for its war crimes and hold it responsible. It’s already too late. It’s now or never. And the only solution to the conflict is to restore Palestine to it’s original shape as it was per 1937 and ask Jews to go back to Germany.

Neville Cardus: The man who turned cricket writing into poetry

By Harsh Thakor*  Neville Cardus was one of the most remarkable literary figures of the twentieth century. His achievements in these contrasting disciplines earned him widespread acclaim and established him as one of the foremost critics of his generation. In February 2025, the cricketing and literary world marked the fiftieth anniversary of his death, which occurred in February 1975.

Swami Vivekananda's views on caste and sexuality were 'painfully' regressive

By Bhaskar Sur* Swami Vivekananda now belongs more to the modern Hindu mythology than reality. It makes a daunting job to discover the real human being who knew unemployment, humiliation of losing a teaching job for 'incompetence', longed in vain for the bliss of a happy conjugal life only to suffer the consequent frustration.

The politics of dreaming: Savita Singh's feminist imagination

By Ravi Ranjan*  In contemporary Hindi poetry, few voices have explored the philosophical and creative possibilities of women's experience as powerfully as Savita Singh. Across collections such as "Svapna Samay" (Dream Time), Aapne Jaisa Jeevan, and "Prem Bhi Ek Yatana" Hai, she has developed a poetic world in which woman is not merely a subject of suffering or social commentary but a creator of knowledge, meaning, and alternative realities.
